First step: cut your yarn into four pieces. Stretch them over your frame and tape or glue on the back. I thought it worked best if you did both sides and all the corners as shown in the picture.
Second step: Cut a long piece of yarn (I just eye-balled all these) and tie a knot on one of your strings. Go to the next string and do the same, all the way around the circle. Try to keep the string tight, which can be difficult.
I forgot one more thing you need: Always need some good helpers. Maggie jumped up on my lap right away to chase the string ends and attempt to grab them with her paw. Kolby thought maybe I needed a blanket so he brought his over.
Third step: once you have finished the circle tie the remaining string to your string end. Repeat the process again inside the circle. Depending on how much space you have you can do 3or 4 circles. I finished this portion off by tying a knot around the center so that you don't notice the strings don't all meet in the middle.
Fourth step: you have a few options here. First, place your spider in the web. You can either try to hook him into the web by his legs or hot glue him on. If you don't want to use the back of the frame you are now done! Below is the final result.
Option two is to put the back of the frame on. You can find some neat paper or fabric to put behind the web. I'm not thrilled with the orange, I think something with a slight pattern would look better but this is what I had and I'm not sure what my mom will prefer.
There you have it! An easy spider web!
