Keith and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary last month! Three years ago on September 5th with said our "I do's" in a beautiful ceremony with all our family and friends. I could not have dreamed up a better wedding. We had the most amazing day. Here are some pictures from that day (mainly random ones I found on my computer). I can't look at these without smiling.

First kiss as husband and wife.
Leaving the church. Keith had just been hit with a walnut from my cousin Connor. The first time Connor and Keith met Connor was 4 and threw walnuts at him. Good boy.

The family after the reception. Everyone is a happy tired!
This year's anniversary defiantly wasn't one I will remember
fondly, the actual date at least. Keith's lieutenant had passed away that week
and his funeral was the same day of our anniversary. Keith ended up hanging out
with some PD buddies that evening so Kolby and I cuddled the evening away. It
wasn't a happy anniversary but it did remind me how thankful I am for my
husband. He is an amazing man who I fall in love with more each day (except
days he makes messes).
Due to work schedules and the funeral we decided to
post-pone any anniversary related activities until the next weekend. My mom and
dad graciously offered to take Kolby for the next weekend so we could go to
Omaha and get away. (I am so blessed to have amazing parents!) Keith and I
enjoyed going out to dinner that Friday night with our good friends Gary and
Becca at Jethroe's BBQ. It was great to see them and catch up and also to not
need to rush home to take care of Kolby. The next morning we slept in...like
really slept in...until 11:30...I think exhaustion from the previous weeks had
set in. (Keith had ended up working for 26 days straight before our trip and I
can always sleep more!) Once we drug ourselves out of bed we headed to Omaha.
We got their around 3:00 and checked into our hotel. I found a small little hotel
in the Old Market area that was very nice. We then headed down to the stores to
shop. We spent a few hours wondering through stores which was lots of fun. We
then stopped at a brewery so Keith could try one of their beers and catch a bit
of the ISU-Iowa game. I was craving spaghetti (again) so we headed to Spaghetti
Works for supper. It was delicious! We both ate until we couldn't move anymore
and then slowly plodded back to the hotel. It was still pretty early in the
evening but most of the shops were starting to close so we decided to rent a
movie at the hotel. We've never rented an in room movie before! We watched...it
was pretty good and nice to just relax. The hotel provides a milk and cookies
buffet in the evenings so partway through the movie we went down for a snack.
The next morning we woke up much earlier and enjoyed a nice breakfast at the
hotel before heading to the Henry Doorly Zoo. It was a cold and windy morning
threatening ran so I was a little fearful it would be a bum day. It wasn't
raining when we got to the zoo so we decided to do the outdoor stuff first.
Turns out it was a great idea because no one else had the same idea. We
wandered looking at the outdoor animals for a long time without seeing another
person...and it never rained. Eventually we headed indoors to look at those
exhibits and to eat. We hit the gift shop on the way out and bought the baby a
stuffed animal and a zoo book. Spoiled much?
After that we decided to do a little shopping at a local mall. We both needed new pants. Me cause mine are getting to small and Keith because his are getting too big. Something he reminds me of often J. We struck out big time while shopping; only finding a pair of pajamas. We headed home after that to meet my parents to Kolby swap. We had a wonderful weekend. It was very relaxing and we were able to spend some quality time together which is always a good time. We ended the weekend (or started the week) on Monday with our ultrasound which was awesome!
September 5th did have one very positive event. While leaving the funeral I received an email from my brother that said he had met a girl named Kelly and she was really nice. Totally made my day! (Luckily, he doesn't read my blog otherwise no doubt he'd be mad I wrote about him!)

Kolby and Maggie missed us!
