Miss Maggie Mae

Guest blogger number two, Maggie Mae, here! I heard the dog wrote an entry last weekend and figured I needed to catch up! That dog gets all the attention! I’m going to follow his blog format, might as well decrease the amount of work I have to do. I’ve got a nap with my dad scheduled for this afternoon so the sooner I finish, the sooner I can go back to sleep.
My favorite parent: This is an easy one, my dad! The dog is a mama’s boy (aka a sissy) and I am a complete daddy’s girl. Because of this I let him hold me however he wants for as long as he wants. He also leaves the light in my room on so I don’t have to eat in the dark. The only time I prefer my mom is when I want outside. If I whine and look sad she usually will let me into the back yard. Here are some of my favorite photos with my dad!
My least favorite parent: Whoever won’t feed me or let me into the backyard. Also, whichever one of them brought the dog home. I get back at them by "helping" at different times.

My favorite people (other than my parents):I don’t really meet a lot of being as I’m trapped indoors most of the time but my Grandma Carlson is always nice to me, so I’d say her. She also takes care of me when mom and dad are gone. She really likes it when I help her sew!

My least favorite people: Our next door neighbors who told my mom where I was hiding one day after I finally escaped from the back yard!

(There are I am looking into the living room from our roof...)

My favorite animal: My favorite animal is any stuffed animal. They’re quiet, don’t run you over, and don’t steal your food. This used to be my favorite toy/stuffed animal but the dog ate it...
My least favorite animal (s): The dog…I’m still wondering why my parents thought they should bring him home. All he does is cause trouble. He barks, he chases me, he tries to clean my ears, and he steals my food. I also don’t like our neighborhood squirrels. They chatter so much at me when I’m outside mom and dad can usually find me after an escape attempt by just listening to them.
(This isn't one of those tattle telling squirrels but it was a suspiciously large bug I found on the porch).

(Here is the dog letting my mom know of an escape attempt. She had no idea I snuck out of the backyard until he open his big mouth).

My favorite place in the whole wide world: Being outside! I LOVE being outside in our backyard, or front yard, or side yard…wherever I can go. I sneak outside at any chance I can get and often fuss when I’m brought back inside. (Mom has the scars to prove it). Sometimes I am able to sneak out of our backyard and then I get to stay out a LONG time if I stay hidden. On a side note: When the dog was a new puppy I used to sit in front of the back door so mom or dad had to move me before letting the dog out and sometimes it took so long he had an accident right there! Hahaha!
(I still maintain this was her fault. I was perfectly fine outside).

(Practicing my fence walking skills).

My least favorite place: Anywhere the dog is...I also REALLY hate the car. I will whine the entire time I am in the car just to make sure mom and dad know how much I hate it. Because of this I haven’t been anywhere further than the 5 minute ride to the vet in almost two years. Success! I also hate baths. When I came to live with mom and dad they discovered I had ringworm from the animal shelter. That meant baths every other night for two months! I did NOT like that! Luckily I haven't had to get a bath since! This is a post bath photo from that time.

My favorite foods: I believe cats were made to eat people food and not kibble. That is why for the first 6 months I lived with mom and dad I demanded people food or the wet expensive cat food. My dad finally had enough of that and forced me to eat dry kibble. It’s not so bad as I still eat people food anytime I’m given the opportunity. (Note: mom and dad don’t GIVE me the opportunity, I have to be real sneaky and steal what I want). I’ve found if I put my paw in it, it becomes mine. My favorite people foods are anything from the meat section of the food pyramid and the dairy section. I will also occasionally eat a piece of the dog’s food. I don’t like how it tastes and frankly it’s hard to chew but it upsets him so I do it when mom and dad aren’t looking.
(Mom sometimes brings snacks to bed with her. Here I'm helping myself to some animal crackers while I thought she was sleeping).

My least favorite foods: I do not care for fruits or vegetables (unless there is butter on the vegetables).
My favorite toy: The dog has eaten or destroyed all my toys so I don’t have any; however, I often don’t have time for playing between eating, sleeping, grooming, avoiding the dog, sneaking outdoors and occasionally terrorizing the dog. (Sometimes at night I walk into his room and sit in front of his kennel reminding him I get to roam free while he’s trapped in his kennel). I do also enjoy playing with my mom’s craft projects and wrapping paper. I LOVE wrapping paper.
(I also love boxes. This one was added to my little brother's room just for me! That was nice of mom and dad!)
My least favorite toy: The dog…
My favorite place in our house: The top of dad's chair, mom’s side of the bed, or the chair in the yellow room. From the top of dad’s chair I can keep an eye on the house and normally stay out of the dog’s reach. I prefer cuddling with my mom on her side of the bed as dad rolls around a lot and I’ve been squished under him one too many times. Mom usually has to wake up and save me from being crushed. Now I just avoid him at night. Lastly, if you haven’t been in our yellow room it has lots of windows and is often nice and sunny. Plus it is dog free! I also like warm laundry.
My least favorite place in our house: Anywhere the dog is!
My favorite thing to do after a long day: Cuddle up on mom or dad and take a nap. Or try to share dinner with them. They really need to learn how to share.

My least favorite thing to do after a long day: Spend any time with the dog...

My favorite thing to do with my dad: I love to cuddle with my dad.
(This was a good night. I got to cuddle with dad AND be outside!)
My least favorite thing to do with my dad: Share a bed with him. As I said above he moves a lot and he’s heavy!

My favorite thing to do with my mom: Play outside. Okay we don’t really play but she is the only one who lets me outside to explore.

My least favorite thing to do with my mom: I see the dog said ride in the car with her. I would agree, but I hate riding in the car with anyone. I don’t like it when my mom cooks as she doesn’t let me sample anything. I am great quality control!

Well, I hear naptime calling me name! No worries though, I make sure to sleep FAR away from dad’s side of the bed to avoid a squishing. Or maybe I’ll go into the dog’s room and sleep on the bed beside him…
